Acrylics are very rewarding to work with! There are so many rich colors you can get from layering the paints, and you do not have to wait days for it to dry like oil paints. I had fun working this study in acrylic, so if I made a mistake I could just work over it.I started to understand the post impressionist stitching of colors, but I am still having issues with overlaying a transparent yellow over the dark blues. I found it was useful to do a layer of white first and then colorize the white with the transparent yellow. It might also help to add a wax or other thickener to the yellow paint.
